Carnavalet Museum

After a five-year restoration, I was afraid that they would ruin one of my favorite museums. Thankfully, the Carnavalet is still confusing as hell inside and packed with a ton of displays that have been boring Parisian schoolchildren for decades. There are some spiffy new features, but there are two main reasons we come here.

First, the Salle de Bal de l'hotel de Wendel by Josep Maria Sert. We visit this shrine every time we come to Paris.

And then the marvelous Belle Époque interior of the Bouquet jewelry store by Alphonse Mucha.
