A Little-Known Palazzo in Italy

Ira wrote to the Count who owns this expansive palazzo, and he invited us to come look at the marvelous frescoes in the ballroom. Completed around the mid-1700s, the room's walls climb 40 feet and are festooned with tromp l'oeil frescoes that show family ancestors. We also toured the scudieri (stables) which included a ceiling painting and several ancient carriages. Our hosts were charming, and it was a delightful way to see grand architecture and art.
